Chicago – March 09, 2026

The United States House of Representatives voted 357–65 to block a resolution introduced by Nancy Mace that sought the release of congressional sexual-harassment records.

Lawmakers from both parties—175 Republicans and 182 Democrats—supported sending the proposal to the House Ethics Committee, where it is unlikely to advance.

The resolution followed allegations that Tony Gonzales sent inappropriate texts to a staffer, Regina Santos-Aviles, who later died by suicide. Thomas Massie said about $17 million in taxpayer funds has been used to settle harassment claims involving members of Congress.
