Angie Stone, a renowned R&B singer and member of the hip-hop trio The Sequence, tragically passed away in a car accident on Saturday. She was 63 years old.

The accident occurred around 4:25 a.m. on Interstate 65 in Alabama. Stone was riding in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, which flipped over and was subsequently hit by a big rig. Unfortunately, Stone was pronounced dead at the scene.

Seven others in the van, including the driver, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Stone’s manager, Walter Millsap III, confirmed the news to The Associated Press. He learned about the accident from Stone’s daughter, Diamond, and Blondy, a member of The Sequence.

Angie Stone was a talented singer, songwriter, and producer. She was nominated for three Grammy Awards and was known for her hit song “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.” Stone’s music career spanned over three decades, and she will be deeply missed by her fans and the music industry.
