Chicago – March 12, 2026

Iranian officials say their forces detained members of a U.S. elite military unit after they allegedly crossed into Iranian territory during a night operation.

According to Iranian state media, security forces intercepted the group and took them into custody. However, the United States military has strongly rejected the claim. A spokesperson for United States Central Command said no American troops had been captured and described the reports as false information.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States. Independent confirmation of the alleged arrests has not yet been verified.
