Chicago – August 18, 2025

On Sunday, August 17, an Independence Day celebration took place in Des Plaines, IL. The celebration featured a QCultural Show and concert and began with Humd o Naat recitation.

Consul General Pakistan Tariq Karim attended the event as the chief guest. He focused on Indo-Pak unity, better socio economic cultural & heritage.

In his address, Consul General Tariq Karim underscored the historical significance of Pakistan’s Independence Day, the country’s achievements and potential, and the enduring strength of the Pakistan–U.S. partnership. He talked advised for Hindu Muslims to work together in American community.

Asif Ali Khan Sunto, a well known and award winning Qawwal was the chief performer for the evening. Aziz Warsi and Asif Siddiqui were the lead singers for the Cultural Show

Saima Azher who is a Beauty Pageant title holder was also present at the event. She is a Pakistani born woman who is acting and modelling now.

Pak Consul General Tariq Kareem also graced the event with his presence accompanied by his wife.
A huge crowd gathered for the concert to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence.
Their were food and drinks stalls arranged for the guests

The Pakistani community in Chicago always celebrates the Independence of their parent country with zeal and enthusiasm. There was also a Pakistan Day Parade held in Chicago where a huge congregation gathered and celebrated Pakistan’s Independence dressed in shades of white and green.

The two day event hosted around 1000 guests per day. The organizers Asif Malik, Rana Javed Khan, Raja Abdul Razzaq and Sarwat Siddiqui made the program a great success.
