Pam Bondi continues to serve as the United States Attorney General after being appointed by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in early 2025. She was sworn into office shortly after her confirmation and has remained in the role since then.
The position of Attorney General is part of the president’s cabinet, meaning the officeholder typically serves at the discretion of the president. As a result, Bondi will remain in the role unless she resigns, is replaced by the president, or is removed through formal processes.
In recent months, Bondi has faced criticism from some lawmakers over her handling of matters connected to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and related document releases. However, political criticism or congressional inquiries alone do not automatically remove a sitting Attorney General from office.
For now, Bondi continues to lead the Department of Justice while debates around the issue remain active in Washington.
