US President Donald Trump claimed that airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities “obliterated” the country’s nuclear program. According to the report, produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the strikes sealed off entrances to two facilities but didn’t collapse underground buildings. Iran’s enriched uranium stocks remain intact, and its nuclear program may have been set back only a few months.
Iran’s Nuclear Program: Resilience and Concerns
Iran’s nuclear facilities, particularly Natanz and Fordow, are heavily fortified and buried deep underground, making them difficult to destroy completely. Natanz is a key uranium enrichment site, while Fordow is a secretive facility with advanced centrifuges.
