Maulana Dr. Syed Shah Khusro Hussaini, the respected spiritual leader of Dargah Khwaja Bande Nawaz in Gulbarga, passed away at the age of 80. His death occurred on Wednesday night. The funeral prayers will take place on Thursday after the Maghrib prayer at the Dargah Sharif Mosque, and he will be buried at the same location.
Dr. Hussaini was the son of the late Hazrat Syed Muhammad Muhammadul Hussaini and is survived by his wife, two sons—Syed Muhammad Ali Hussaini and Dr. Syed Mustafa Hussaini—and three daughters. His death has brought many people, including important leaders from universities and colleges, to mourn his passing.
Dr. Hussaini was a key figure in promoting Sufism and Islamic teachings. He was dedicated to helping others and significantly contributed to Gulbarga’s education. Following his father’s vision, he played a crucial role in establishing the Khwaja Banda Nawaz University, the first in India to be linked with a Dargah.
His teachings inspired many people, and various religious communities deeply feel his loss. Dr. Hussaini’s work in Islamic scholarship and spiritual guidance will be remembered and valued for many years.
