Chicago – January 19, 2025

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi announced the launch of the ‘White T-Shirt Movement’ on Sunday, calling on people to join the fight for justice, equality, and the rights of the poor. Sharing the news on social media platform X, Gandhi encouraged citizens to wear white T-shirts as a symbol of support for the cause.

“If you stand for economic justice, oppose growing inequality, fight discrimination, and believe in peace and stability, wear a white T-shirt and join the movement,” a video shared by Gandhi urged.

Gandhi criticized the Modi government, accusing it of ignoring the struggles of the poor and focusing on benefiting wealthy capitalists. He stated that rising inequality has worsened the condition of workers who build the nation with their hard work, forcing them to face injustice.

“This government has turned its back on the working class. It is our responsibility to raise our voices for their rights and justice. That’s why we are starting the #WhiteTshirtMovement,” Gandhi explained.

The movement’s official website highlights the white T-shirt as a symbol of compassion, unity, non-violence, equality, and progress. These principles aim to create a society where every individual is valued, and freedom is not controlled by a select few.
