Chicago – March 17, 2026

Donald Trump has called on international allies to support efforts securing the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, warning of further military action if threats persist. In remarks on Monday, Trump signaled possible additional strikes targeting Iran’s Kharg Island, a critical hub for the country’s oil exports.

The comments come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf, with concerns over disruptions to global energy supplies. Trump emphasized that freedom of navigation must be protected, urging coalition partners to take a more active role in regional security operations.

Iran has yet to formally respond, but analysts warn the rhetoric could escalate an already fragile situation.
