President-elect Donald Trump revealed his picks for U.S. ambassadors to five countries on Monday, including Japan and Austria. These nominations, which were shared through posts on Truth Social, must still be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Trump selected George Edward Glass, a former U.S. ambassador to Portugal, to serve as ambassador to Japan. Glass, who previously led an investment bank, is praised for his business skills. Trump noted that Glass graduated from the University of Oregon and served on its Board of Trustees. “George will always PUT AMERICA FIRST,” Trump said.
For the Dominican Republic, Trump nominated Leah Francis Campos. She is a former CIA officer and worked as a senior advisor for the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Campos is also the sister of Rachel Campos-Duffy, a host on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” and the sister-in-law of incoming Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy. Trump praised her dedication to national security and prosperity.
Trump’s other picks include Arthur Graham Fisher, president of Fisher Realty, as ambassador to Austria; Stacey Feinberg for Luxembourg; and Lou Rinaldi for Uruguay.
These nominations highlight Trump’s focus on choosing individuals with business backgrounds and a strong commitment to the country’s interests. If confirmed, they will represent the United States in key diplomatic posts across the world.
