Former U.S. President Donald Trump has made a big change to the country’s divorce laws. This new rule will make it harder for people to get divorced quickly. Some people are happy about it, but others are not.

Before, couples could get divorced without too much trouble if they both agreed. But now, the process might take longer, and there could be more rules to follow. Trump said he wants to protect families and make sure people think carefully before ending their marriage.

Many people believe this new law will help keep families together. However, some think it could be unfair to people who are in bad or dangerous marriages. Some lawyers also worry that this could make divorce more expensive and stressful.

“It’s not fair to people who really need a divorce,” said one woman outside a courthouse. “What if someone is in an unhappy or unsafe marriage?”

Trump has always talked about family values, but he himself has been divorced twice. People are now waiting to see how this law will affect real families in the future. Some states might try to fight against it, but for now, the new rule is in place.
