A recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research reveals that President Donald Trump’s immigration policy remains a strong point, with about half of U.S. adults approving of his approach. However, his handling of tariffs and the economy has drawn significant criticism.

The survey shows that only about 4 in 10 adults have a positive view of Trump’s handling of the economy and trade negotiations. This is a notable decline, considering that the economy was a key factor in Trump’s winning 2024 campaign.

Trump’s threats to impose tariffs have been met with widespread disapproval, with many experts warning that they could lead to trade wars and harm the economy. The poll suggests that these concerns are shared by many Americans, who are increasingly skeptical of Trump’s economic policies.

In contrast, Trump’s immigration policy remains popular, with many Americans supporting his efforts to ramp up deportations and restrict immigration.
