Chicago – March 15, 2026

Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, has been given a 10-day deadline to disclose his financial records after being appointed as a special peace envoy. Officials say the disclosure is required under federal ethics rules to ensure transparency and avoid potential conflicts of interest.

The request follows Kushner’s new diplomatic role focused on Middle East negotiations. Lawmakers and ethics watchdogs say financial transparency is essential because Kushner has extensive business ties and investments that could intersect with U.S. foreign policy decisions.

The Office of Government Ethics will review the submitted documents to determine whether any assets or business relationships require divestment or other safeguards during his diplomatic assignment.
