Chicago – November 12, 2025

Adele is set to make her highly anticipated acting debut in the upcoming film “Cry to Heaven,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker and former fashion designer Tom Ford. The movie is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel of the same name and marks Ford’s first film since 2016’s “Nocturnal Animals.” Production is scheduled to begin in mid-January 2026, with a planned release in the fall of 2026.

“Cry to Heaven” is described as an epic drama set in 18th-century Venice, following the intertwined stories of a Venetian nobleman and a castrated singer from Calabria as they strive for success in the world of opera. The star-studded cast also includes Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, and Paul Bettany, among others.

Tom Ford decided to self-finance the film to maintain creative control, and filming locations will include London and Rome. Adele’s casting has generated significant buzz, as this will be her first film role, transitioning from her renowned music career to acting under Ford’s esteemed direction.
