Iran has suspended all negotiations with the United States, citing Israel’s escalating military strikes on Lebanon as a breach of ceasefire prerequisites, according to state-aligned media reports released Monday.
The semi-official Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran’s negotiating team would halt talks and cease exchanging messages through intermediaries. “In light of ongoing assaults by the Israeli regime in Lebanon, and recognizing that Lebanon was a prerequisite for the ceasefire—which has now been breached on all fronts,” the delegation is discontinuing dialogue.
Iran demands an immediate end to Israel’s military operations in both Gaza and Lebanon, along with a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory. The agency emphasized negotiations will not resume until these conditions are addressed.
The suspension comes after fresh strikes between US and Iranian forces over the weekend, despite a ceasefire reached earlier. President Donald Trump said he had not been informed of Iran’s decision, adding it “doesn’t mean we’re going to go and start dropping bombs all over there”.
