Chicago – November 06, 2024
Donald Trump, the president-elect, is gearing up to return to the White House and has announced plans to form a new administration, different from both his first team and the one under President Joe Biden. Trump has 75 days to set up his team before he is inaugurated on January 20.
During this transition period, Trump and his team will focus on filling approximately 4,000 government roles with political appointees. These positions range from the Secretary of State to part-time roles on various boards and commissions.
Out of these, about 1,200 require the approval of the Senate. This process might be smoother now as the Senate has shifted to Republican control.
Trump is no stranger to this task as he built a brand-new team for his first term. He has clear plans on how to approach things differently in his second term.
In a recent development, Kamala Harris, the current vice president, called Donald Trump to concede after his victory. Harris is scheduled to speak to her supporters for the first time since her defeat. She will address the nation at Howard University at 4:00 PM EST today.
