Chicago – September 21, 2024
Former President Donald Trump has decided not to participate in a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on October 23, just a few weeks before Election Day.
He announced his decision during a Wilmington, North Carolina rally, explaining that early voting had already begun and he felt it was too late to have another debate.
Trump also mentioned he had already been in two debates and expressed doubts about whether CNN, the host of the proposed debate, would treat him fairly.
Vice President Harris, who had agreed to CNN’s invitation for the debate, expressed on Twitter her hope that Trump would join her.
Earlier, Trump had declined a second debate with Harris in a post on Truth Social, asserting he had won their first debate on ABC, which covered topics like abortion, immigration, and the economy.
Despite this, Trump hinted that he might consider it last week, saying it depends on his mood.
