Senator Bill Hagerty from Tennessee has sent a serious message to all federal agencies. He warned them that they must follow the rules about managing money and changing programs as they prepare for a possible change in the White House to a Trump administration.
Hagerty’s letters, which were seen by Fox News Digital, remind these agencies of their legal duties according to the Further Consolidated Appropriations and Extensions Act 2024.
Hagerty emphasized that it’s very important for the current administration to follow these laws carefully to avoid any legal troubles, including criminal charges. He pointed out that as President Biden’s team starts to hand over responsibilities to the next president, they must do it in a way that’s open, timely, and follows the law.
This warning comes at a time when tensions are high about the upcoming transition. There were problems during the last transition from Obama to Trump, especially with disagreements over Russia’s interference in the election.
Also, after the 2020 election, Trump didn’t agree with the results, which led to legal issues. Now, as the 2024 election approaches, resources are already being shared with both Trump and Harris to prepare for the next president’s team taking over in January 2025.
