Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 45% to 41% in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. This 4-point lead is larger than the 1-point advantage Harris held in late July. The poll, conducted over the last eight days, shows Harris gaining more support among women and Hispanic voters, with a 13-point lead over Trump in both groups.
In July, her lead was smaller, at 9 points among women and 6 points among Hispanics. Trump still leads among white voters and men, but his lead among those without a college degree has decreased from 14 points in July to just 7 points.
The race for the U.S. presidency has changed significantly this summer, especially after President Joe Biden ended his campaign following a poor debate performance. Harris has since gained more ground in national polls and key swing states, though the final outcome will depend on results in battleground states.
