On Wednesday, MPs from the INDIA bloc, including Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, protested on the Parliament premises. They were upset about alleged discrimination against opposition-ruled states in the Union Budget.
Besides Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, MPs from the Congress, TMC, Samajwadi Party, DMK, and the Left also joined the protest. The demonstration took place on the steps leading up to the Makar Dwar of Parliament.
Kharge criticized the budget, saying, “This Budget is anti-people. No one has got justice. They talked about special packages but haven’t given special status. This is a deceptive budget and an injustice to the people.”
The protesting MPs held placards with messages like “We want India budget, not NDA budget” and “NDA betrays India in Budget.”
