A man crashed his car into a group of people waiting to enter a nightclub in Los Angeles early Saturday morning, injuring 23 people. The incident happened around 2 a.m. outside a club in the Rampart Village area.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. When officers arrived, they found the man who had crashed his car being attacked by people at the scene. One of the bystanders managed to shoot the driver before leaving the area.
According to LAPD officer Jeffrey Lee, 23 people were taken to the hospital with various injuries. Thankfully, no one has died from the incident.
Police said they are still unsure why the man crashed his car, but they learned that there had been a possible argument between him and clubgoers inside before he was asked to leave the nightclub.
LAPD is now looking for the person who shot the driver. He is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, and bald. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
