A new poll from the Howard University Initiative on Public Opinion shows strong support for Vice President Kamala Harris among Black voters in key swing states as the 2024 election approaches.
The poll reveals that 82% of Black voters support Harris, compared to just 12% for former President Donald Trump. About 5% of voters are undecided, while 1% plan to vote for someone else.
Support for Harris is exceptionally high among older Black voters. The poll found that 89% of Black voters over 50 back Harris, while only 8% support Trump and 4% prefer another candidate.
Among younger Black voters, Harris still leads with 75%, but Trump’s support rises to 16%, and 9% are backing other candidates.
These findings highlight a generational gap, though Harris remains the overwhelming favorite across all age groups.
