President Biden firmly ruled out the possibility of dropping out of the presidential race during a Friday rally in Madison, Wisconsin. Before departing on Air Force One, he spoke briefly with reporters and addressed the topic.
When asked if he would consider dropping out of the race, Biden replied, “I’m completely ruling that out.” He also confirmed that he had spoken to at least 20 members of Congress about his campaign.
Although he did not name the members of Congress he spoke with, Biden shared that they encouraged him to stay in the race. “They’re telling me to stay in the race,” he said.
Biden also responded to a question about Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., who is reportedly organizing a group of Democratic lawmakers to visit the White House on Monday and persuade Biden to withdraw from the race.
“Mark Warner, in my understanding, is the only one considering that,” Biden commented.
This interaction solidified Biden’s commitment to continue his campaign and clarified the support he receives from many Congress members.
