President Joe Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19 Again
President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 again, as reported by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre after an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
“He is vaccinated and boosted, and he is experiencing mild symptoms,” Jean-Pierre said.
Biden will return to his home in Delaware to self-isolate. Jean-Pierre assured that the White House will provide regular updates on his condition. She emphasized that Biden will continue to carry out his full duties while in isolation.
Biden gave a thumbs up to reporters from the window of his vehicle as his motorcade arrived at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas before boarding Air Force One without a face mask. Later, he posted a message on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “I will continue to work to get the job done for the American people.”
Biden’s positive COVID test comes at a crucial time in his reelection campaign against former President Donald Trump. His diagnosis could take him off the campaign trail for several days after a tough stretch that began with a rough debate against Trump on June 27, leading to calls for him to withdraw from the race.
