In a strong critique, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday of failing to uphold the respect of his office.
She claimed that Modi has not kept his promises to the nation’s 140 crore citizens, which she says has diminished the prestige of the highest position in the country.
Priyanka Gandhi’s comments followed statements by Modi on Friday, where he criticized the Congress party. Modi argued that Congress is deceiving the public by making commitments it cannot fulfill.
He pointed out this issue after comments from Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress chief, who mentioned that Congress state units should ensure their promises are financially realistic.
Priyanka Gandhi suggested that instead of focusing on criticisms of the Congress, Modi should concentrate on being truthful to restore the honor of his position.
Her strong words reflect ongoing tensions between the ruling party and the opposition as they debate how best to manage the country’s commitments and governance.
