The pro-Palestinian group known as “Abandon Harris” has declared a shift in its focus from opposing President Biden to Vice President Kamala Harris, citing her role in what they term as “genocide” in Gaza. Originally called “Abandon Biden,” the group has maintained its registered name but adjusted its mission to spotlight and challenge Harris’s actions and the Democratic Party’s stance on the conflict in Gaza.
In a recent statement, the group criticized the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and the Democratic Party, accusing them of complicity in violence in Gaza and failing to halt what they describe as genocide. They have urged those who share their views to join in holding the party accountable.
Throughout the DNC this week, members of “Abandon Harris” and other anti-Israel protesters demonstrated their displeasure with Harris’ campaign through various protests and disruptions aimed at DNC speakers. This action marks a significant moment of internal opposition within the party concerning its foreign policy positions.
