Efforts to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have gained momentum as Qatar has returned to the negotiation table.
President-elect Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, has been meeting with key leaders in the region, aiming to help free the remaining 100 hostages in Gaza.
Witkoff recently held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in late November. These meetings are seen as an attempt to restart stalled negotiations between Israel and Hamas.
While the outcome of these discussions is still unclear, Qatar has resumed its important role in brokering a deal after briefly stepping back last month due to frustration over the lack of progress in negotiations.
