Chicago – October 01, 2025

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump proposed utilizing U.S. cities as training grounds for the armed forces, emphasizing the need for military force to address what he described as an “invasion from within.”

Speaking to an audience of military leaders gathered in Virginia, Trump presented a bold and unconventional view of the military’s role in domestic affairs, suggesting that military resources should be used to combat violence and unrest in American cities.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who accompanied Trump, declared the end of “woke” culture within the military and introduced new directives for service members. These changes include implementing gender-neutral physical fitness standards and revising fitness requirements to ensure they are consistent across genders.

Trump’s comments highlighted the administration’s effort to reshape Pentagon culture and align military priorities with the president’s domestic objectives. He framed the nation’s internal challenges as akin to a foreign invasion, noting that these threats were more difficult to combat due to their lack of a uniformed identity. Hegseth also urged military leaders who oppose the new approach to resign from their posts.
