Former President Donald Trump has decided not to debate Vice President Kamala Harris again. He announced this decision on Truth Social, mentioning that he won’t participate in a third debate. Trump’s decision came after he faced tough questions in a debate with Harris last Tuesday. He said Harris should concentrate on her work from the past four years instead of debating again.
During a campaign event in North Carolina, Vice President Harris responded calmly, saying that voters deserve another debate to understand the candidates better. Her campaign had asked for another debate right after the last one ended.
Democrats have criticized Trump’s decision, pointing out that he might be avoiding another debate because recent polls show Harris performed better. A CNN/SSRS poll showed that 63% of people who watched the debate thought Harris did better, while 37% favored Trump. Another poll by ABC News/538 found similar results, with 57% saying Harris was better compared to 34% for Trump. Trump mentioned other polls where he was favored, but these were online polls where people choose to respond themselves.
