Vice President Vance has said he is “loyal” to President Trump, but also praised billionaire Elon Musk and supported Musk’s criticism of Trump’s budget plan. Vance made these comments on social media and during a podcast with comedian Theo Von, which was posted on Saturday.

Vance’s remarks came during a week when the tension between Trump and Musk was growing. In the interview, which took place on Thursday, Vance expressed that while he supports President Trump, he also respects Musk as an “incredible entrepreneur.” Vance specifically mentioned Musk’s efforts to fight waste and corruption in the country, as well as Musk’s work with the cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE).

“My loyalties are always going to be with the president,” Vance said. However, he also acknowledged Musk’s perspective on the budget issue, calling it “understandable.”
