Tom Cruise has earned a new world record for a daring stunt he did while filming the latest “Mission: Impossible” movie. The Guinness Book of World Records has named him the holder of the title for the “most burning parachute jumps by an individual,” with an impressive 16 jumps.
Craig Glenday, the Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, praised Cruise for his commitment to doing real stunts and pushing the limits of what an actor can do. Glenday said, “Tom doesn’t just play action heroes – he is an action hero!” and recognized his bravery with this special title.
Cruise performed the risky parachute jumps while shooting for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the eighth film in the action-packed series. In a video released by Paramount Pictures, Cruise is seen talking with the stunt coordinators about the dangerous stunt, explaining how he planned to handle the burning parachute.
Cruise humorously explained that he wasn’t trying to be risky but just wanted to be smart, adding, “We don’t take risks… obviously.” The video shows him skydiving with a burning parachute 16 times in a row while the famous “Mission: Impossible” music plays.
This new record is just another example of Cruise’s passion for performing his own stunts, a tradition he’s maintained throughout his career.
