Owaisi Condemns US Attack on Iran’s Nuclear Sites
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized the US attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, calling it a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. He believes the attack also breaches the US Constitution and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Owaisi pointed out that the US Constitution requires congressional approval before attacking another sovereign country.
Double Standards of the US
Owaisi accused the US of having double standards, as it hasn’t taken similar action against Israel, which possesses around 700 nuclear warheads. He noted that Israel isn’t a member of the NPT and doesn’t allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections of its nuclear sites. Owaisi suggested the US attack on Iran is an attempt to divert attention from the Gaza situation.
Concerns for Indian Expatriates
Owaisi expressed concern for the safety of Indian expatriates in the Middle East, citing over 6 million Indians living in Gulf countries. He warned that a war in the region could have significant implications for India, given the substantial investments and foreign remittances involved. Owaisi’s comments highlight the need for careful consideration of the potential consequences of such conflicts.
