Chicago – August 10, 2025

Chicago’s Devon Avenue was filled with green and white as the Pakistani-American community celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a grand parade. Organized by Chairman Syed Azher, the event began at Damen Avenue and concluded at Claremont Avenue, featuring colorful floats and vibrant cultural performances.

Over 1,600 attendees, including 500 special guests, joined in the festivities, waving flags and enjoying patriotic music. Tousig Siddiqui of Chicago Radio provided live coverage, while MC Busra Khan hosted the stage program. Ikram ul Haq, Director of Pakistan Yum-e-Azadi celebrations, welcomed guests alongside community leaders.

Chicago Police managed security and traffic as participants proudly celebrated their heritage. Chairman Syed Azher thanked the community, emphasizing unity and cultural pride, as the day concluded with musical performances and a renewed commitment to preserving Pakistani culture in the U.S.
