Indian stand-up comedian Zakir Khan, often called the “King of Stand-Up” in India, has made history in the United States. On August 17, he became the first Indian to perform a full stand-up comedy show entirely in Hindi at a major U.S. venue.
The show drew a crowd of about 6,000 people, and the audience laughed so much they gave him a standing ovation at the end. Videos of the performance quickly spread across social media.
Zakir Khan, who is a Muslim, didn’t just make people laugh—he also made people proud of the Hindi language, showing that comedy in Hindi can connect with audiences across the world.
His posters were even displayed at Times Square in New York, one of the world’s most famous places. This moment proved that Zakir Khan is now one of the biggest Indian faces in comedy worldwide.
