Chicago – October 22, 2025

Dr Abdul Qader Sahab of Shaheen group (India) received Sir Syed Excellence Award 2025.

  • He is the Chairman & Founder of the Shaheen Group of Institutions, based in Bidar (Karnataka), India.
  • His work involves providing inclusive education, especially focused on the Muslim community and under-privileged students.
  • The Shaheen Group reportedly started in 1989 with just 18 students and has grown significantly over the years.

Dr Qadeer was conferred the Sir Syed National Excellence Award 2025 by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on the occasion of the 208th birth-anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

The citation describes him as “an eminent educationist, visionary reformer, and philanthropist whose work has transformed education …” in recognition of his efforts.
The award acknowledges his efforts to blend modern academic education with traditional religious learning, and to uplift marginalized communities.

The recognition by AMU aligns him with Sir Syed’s legacy of promoting modern education and uplifting minorities in India.
