Chicago – April 21, 2026

n a disturbing incident near Perambra in Kerala’s Kozhikode district, a group of madrasa students were allegedly assaulted while pasting posters on a private wall with prior permission. According to the students, the property owner had approved the activity and asked them to return at night. However, when they came back and approached a nearby house, they were allegedly taken inside, questioned on religious and geopolitical issues, and subjected to communal slurs, including being called “terrorists.”

The situation reportedly escalated when the students tried to leave, with claims that the gate was locked and they were beaten, kicked, and attacked with a metal object. Some sustained serious injuries. The victims were initially treated at Perambra Taluk Hospital and later shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
