Chicago – December 24, 2025

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that his government will introduce new legislation to address hate speech and religious provocation — including tougher penalties for insulting or abusing religions, and curbing actions that could spark communal tensions. The bill is expected to be tabled in the upcoming Assembly session (likely the Budget Session).

  • The proposed law aims to punish those who insult, abuse or promote hatred against any religion or community.
  • The Chief Minister emphasized respect for all faiths while underlining that the law will strengthen peace and communal harmony.
