Prof. Mohammad Rihan, Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and currently on deputation from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), formally presented his latest book, Green Energy and Sustainable Development, published by Cambridge University Press, to Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Mohsin Khan.

The book offers an in-depth analysis of India’s evolving energy landscape, focusing on renewable energy integration, sustainability challenges, and energy security. A key highlight of the publication is a detailed case study on AMU’s solar energy programme, showcasing the University’s initiatives toward adopting clean and sustainable energy solutions.

Prof. Naima Khatoon lauded the work as a significant contribution to the field of green energy and commended the inclusion of AMU’s sustainability efforts. Prof. M. Mohsin Khan congratulated Prof. Rihan and emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers to advance green technologies.

Prof. Rihan expressed gratitude for the University’s support, noting that the case study reflects AMU’s ongoing commitment to climate action and sustainable development.
