Morning Edition: Massive crowd at Eid ul Fitr Prayer 2026 at Holiday Inn, Skokie, IL

Chicago – March 21, 2026

A massive crowd of around 3000 was observed at the Eid Ul Fitr prayer 2026 which took place at the NorthShore Holiday Inn, Skokie, IL. Muslims around the world celebrated Eid after their Holy Month of Ramadan with full zeal. The Eid prayer saw more turnout of ladies then men in Skokie, IL.

Eid al-Fitr, one of the two main festivals in Islam. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting in which Muslims believe God revealed the Qurʾān to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel (Jibrīl). It is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwāl, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar (though the Muslim use of a lunar calendar means that it may fall in any season of the year).

The prayer was divided into 3 shifts for the convenience of the attendees at 9 AM, 10 AM and 10.45 AM. The arrangement was mafde by Chicago Hilal Eid Committee.

Mujeeb Osman and Mr. Hussaini attended the Eid prayer together. The Second Prayer was lead by Imam Syed Moazzam Hussain, Islamic Scholar. Board member Ahmed Hashmi, Tariq Khawaja, Rafael Zain ul Abideen. Mazher Ahmed, Raza Raja, Ilya Khokhar were also in attendance.
