Chicago – April 08, 2026

Republican Clay Fuller has won the special runoff election to replace former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, keeping the seat in Republican hands. Backed by Donald Trump, Fuller defeated Democrat Shawn Harris and will serve the remainder of Greene’s term, which ends in January 2027.

The result strengthens the party’s narrow 217-214 majority in the House of Representatives. Fuller, a lieutenant colonel in the Georgia Air National Guard and a former district attorney, said Trump’s endorsement was the decisive factor in his victory.

Greene resigned earlier this year after a public falling-out with Trump, setting off the special election in the deep-red district. In the first round of voting on March 10, no candidate won a majority, forcing the runoff between Fuller and Harris.

The election also reflected the district’s strong Republican lean, where Trump’s support remained a major influence on voters. Fuller’s win now positions him to complete Greene’s term while Republicans look to preserve their slim edge in Congress.
