Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow as US-Iran peace efforts remain stalled. The visit comes after indirect talks failed to produce a breakthrough, leaving diplomacy in limbo and pushing Tehran to consult a key ally.
Araghchi left Islamabad for Moscow after holding regional meetings in Pakistan and Oman, according to Iranian and international reports. Russian officials said they expected him on Monday, while the Kremlin reiterated that Moscow is ready to support a political settlement but has not offered military assistance in the conflict.
The trip underscores how Iran is widening its diplomatic outreach as negotiations with Washington falter. Russia has positioned itself as a mediator, but no direct US-Iran agreement has emerged, and the roadmap to a lasting deal remains unresolved.
