AMU Signs MoU with VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic to Expand Academic and Research Collaboration

Chicago – August 07, 2026

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, to strengthen cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, and technology. The agreement, signed on August 3 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, marks another step in AMU’s efforts to expand its international academic partnerships.

The MoU was signed by AMU Registrar Prof. Aasim Zafar in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon, senior university officials, and a delegation from the Czech university led by Prof. Kamila JanovskĆ”. The partnership will promote student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, internships, academic visits, collaborative publications, and knowledge sharing.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon said the collaboration would create new opportunities for research and innovation while enhancing AMU’s global engagement. ZHCET Principal Prof. Mohammad Muzammil noted that the partnership would expose students and faculty to international research practices and advanced technologies, encouraging interdisciplinary learning and innovation.

The Czech delegation praised AMU’s academic heritage and expressed confidence that the partnership would foster lasting institutional ties. The collaboration reflects AMU’s continued focus on internationalisation and academic excellence, reinforcing its commitment to global research cooperation and quality higher education. The ceremony concluded with an exchange of mementoes.
