Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind president Maulana Mahmood Madani has called for an immediate halt to India’s alleged supply of weapons and military equipment to Israel, following a report by MST.
According to the report, millions of small arms and artillery shells were allegedly shipped from India to Israel between October 2023 and November 2025. Madani expressed deep concern and anger over the claims, describing the alleged transfers as a stain on humanity and India’s moral values.
He also criticized the Foreign Ministry’s response as unclear, saying the government’s apparent delay in addressing the issue could damage India’s ethical foundations and international reputation.
In a statement issued to the media, Madani referred to the International Court of Justice’s 2024 proceedings and cited international obligations under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and the 1948 Genocide Convention. He argued that knowingly supplying weapons potentially used against civilians could amount to complicity in war crimes.
Madani urged the government to launch a transparent investigation, suspend arms exports by public and private defense companies, and end military relations with Israel. He said India’s historic support for Palestinians should guide its foreign policy.
