President Trump Vows to End Government “Weaponization”

President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders aimed at protecting citizens from unfair prosecution and ending federal censorship. The move comes as Trump targets what he calls the “weaponization” of the US government, starting with the prosecution of Marine veteran Daniel Penny by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump’s executive orders direct his administration to investigate previous actions by federal agencies under the Biden presidency. The orders claim that these actions were meant to inflict political pain rather than pursue justice or legitimate government objectives.

According to former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo, Trump’s orders will protect individuals from costly and humiliating court cases brought on by prosecutors to push a specific narrative. Yoo wrote that the effort to end “lawfare” will focus on Democrats’ use of prosecution to target Trump, as well as misuse of prosecutorial authority against ordinary citizens.
