World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture backed by President Donald Trump, is collaborating with WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-based platform that provides access to artificial-intelligence models from companies flagged by the U.S. government over national-security and intellectual-property concerns.
A Reuters review found that 43 of WorldClaw’s 90 listed models were developed by Chinese companies, including Alibaba, Baidu, Z.ai, DeepSeek and Moonshot. The platform also offers models from U.S. firms such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
WorldClaw accepts World Liberty’s USD1 stablecoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment. The Trump family owns a 38% stake in World Liberty and earns revenue from the use of its tokens, including interest generated by assets backing USD1.
The collaboration is not currently considered illegal. However, experts said it appears inconsistent with the Trump administration’s tougher stance toward Chinese technology companies. Alibaba and Baidu have been designated by the Pentagon as Chinese military-affiliated firms, while Z.ai is listed by the Commerce Department as subject to export restrictions.
World Liberty said there was no conflict of interest, while WorldClaw described itself as an independent company. Chinese firms named in the report have disputed the U.S. allegations.
