US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing economic and travel sanctions on individuals involved in International Criminal Court (ICC) investigations of US citizens or allies, including Israel ¹. This move has sparked concern among various countries, with Egypt warning that Trump’s plan to displace millions of Palestinians from Gaza could lead to renewed fighting. Jordan has also expressed concerns that the plan would spread chaos in the Middle East and jeopardize its peace with Israel.

The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza. Trump’s order accuses the ICC of engaging in “illegitimate and baseless actions” targeting the US and its allies. The sanctions could cripple the court’s ability to investigate and prosecute war crimes.
