In a thrilling hockey game, Team Canada beat the US 3-2 in overtime at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Connor McDavid scored the winning goal, making Canada proud. But this game was more than just hockey – it was also about politics.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Donald Trump have been joking around about Canada becoming the 51st US state. Trump even called Trudeau the “governor” of Canada! But Trudeau had a strong response after the game, saying “You can’t take our country – and you can’t take our game!”

This isn’t the first time politics has mixed with sports. Earlier this month, fans booed the US national anthem at hockey and basketball games because of a disagreement about tariffs. The booing continued at the 4 Nations Face-Off, and even led to a fight between players!

But at the latest game, something special happened. Canadian fans sang their national anthem loudly, drowning out any boos. Then, US fans sang their anthem too. It was a moment of respect and friendship between the two countries.
