Israel has expanded the territory under its military control in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and parts of Syria by more than 1,000 square kilometers since the outbreak of regional hostilities, according to military and security analysts.
The largest expansion has occurred in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces have established extensive buffer zones and operational areas amid ongoing fighting with Hamas. In southern Lebanon, troops have maintained positions near the border following exchanges of fire with Hezbollah, while in Syria, Israel has increased its presence in strategic areas close to the Golan Heights.
Israeli officials say the measures are intended to improve border security and prevent attacks from armed groups operating in neighboring territories. Critics, however, argue that the expansion risks further destabilizing the region and complicating diplomatic efforts.
The developments come amid continuing regional tensions and international calls for de-escalation, humanitarian access, and renewed negotiations aimed at reducing the risk of a broader conflict.
