A big political fight has started after India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, said something surprising about two of the country’s richest men. At a rally, he directly called out billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. He told them they should announce to the public “how much money they have sent to the BJP in a tempo,” which is a kind of vehicle. He also wondered out loud why the opposing Congress party had suddenly stopped criticizing them.

Experts who study politics think the Prime Minister might be playing a smart game. They believe he isn’t actually angry but is trying to get ahead of the story before the elections. By bringing up the topic of business donations himself, he is trying to take away a big criticism that other parties often use against him. It makes him look like he has nothing to hide and is even challenging the powerful businessmen.

The video of his comments is spreading everywhere online. The Congress party is now asking for a major investigation by government agencies. Everyone is waiting to see if the two famous billionaires will say anything back to the Prime Minister’s very public and unexpected challenge.
