BRS Leader K.R. Suresh Reddy Urges Protection of Wakf Properties

K.R. Suresh Reddy, a member of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party in Telangana, has expressed concerns about the Wakf (Amendment) Bill, emphasizing the need to safeguard Wakf properties that hold significant cultural and religious value.

In his recent speech, Reddy highlighted potential loopholes in the bill that could lead to mismanagement or misuse of these properties. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the administration of Wakf boards, ensuring the rights of beneficiaries are upheld.

Reddy called for collaborative efforts between the government and community leaders to protect Wakf properties. His concerns come at a time when the Wakf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, has been introduced to revise the composition of the Central Waqf Council and Waqf Boards, among other changes.

The bill aims to improve the management of Wakf properties, but Reddy’s concerns underscore the need for careful consideration to ensure these properties are safeguarded for future generations.
